abstract:Bill of Peace was an English court practice used in the 17th and 18th centuries for legal disputes involving multiple parties that shared common aspects. It allowed the English Court of Chancery to settle the rights of parties, a group known as the "multitude", in one suit, in equity court.
Peers will also canter through all the stages of the HGV Road User Levy Bill and debate the role of civil society in promoting peace in Israel and Palestine.
Labour's Jeremy Corbyn welcomed the bill and described the Antarctic as a "zone ofpeace" which belongs to the world, but suggested some Conservative MPs were showing a "slight degree of xenophobia and nationalism in their approach".
